Steam Sales are always a good time of the year, having the fortune of being greeted by both new and old games on the cheap right as a new season begins is a particularly refreshing feeling. Steam’s Next Fest is a celebration of the indie genre as a whole. On top of the Sales, there’s another Steam Next Fest to look forward to this year, one of the best things recently added to Steam that lets you try demos of hundreds upon hundreds of upcoming indie titles for completely free. The Winter Sale is said to run from the 22nd of December to the 5th of January. And after Autumn it’s obviously going to be time for the much-awaited Winter Sale, which always feels like an early new year’s blessing in disguise as you spend the days in your chilly room huddled up in your cozy blankets and (probably) playing some games to pass the time. Anyone looking forward to finally getting their hands on Resident Evil Village(Including me) should be very excited about this.Īfter Halloween, it’s time for the breezy Autumn sale which is expected to last from November 24th to November 30th. Halloween Sale is going to start on the 28th of October(obviously) and will run until November 1st. As one could probably guess it’s a celebration of Tabletop RPGs so fans of games like Divinity Original Sin, Baldurs Gate, Pathfinder Kingmaker, etc can look forward to this one.įollowing the Digital Tabletop Fest comes the iconic Halloween Sale celebrating the spooks and freaks of the year where you can likely expect the majority of Steam’s Horror catalog on a relatively deep sale. It’s set to start on October 21st and will seemingly run until the 25th, 3 days before Halloween starts. The game's ending certainly hints at more, and even if it's been seven years I'm hoping for another ride with her! The story was really quite mature with it's more complex themes too as Kathy digs through the secrets of her old home town and estranged family, and as the secrets tumbled out the game never stopped being anything less than mature and sensitive about them where lesser games might have done otherwise.Īlso, the main menu music has no right being as good as it is.According to SteamDB, unconfirmed dates for a handful of future Steam sales have been leaked, starting with the Digital Tabletop Fest 2021 this October. Adding her to my list of 'Uzzycore' characters for sure. Kathy herself, a 20 something rebel without a cause chain smoking motorbike riding somewhat of a college student, is absolutely a character I love, and I'd pay good money for more adventures with her. Though there was a weaker stretch towards the end where it devolved into ask one character something, then go to a completely different location to ask another, then go back to pick up an item. Which I really appreciated, I'm still traumatised over the old adventure games where you needed the walkthrough guide to hand. No completely random cat based puzzles here. The chain of the adventure is also really quite logical for the most part, what you need to do and find out is well signposted. The voice acting throughout is really strong, especially from the lead Arielle Siegel playing Kathy Rain, but even the minor characters are well voiced, and come to life effectively. It's a well written adventure game with a cast I really enjoyed and a protagonist I loved. And that's Kathy Rain: The Director's Cut finished.
